Highlights of work on local issues
One of the most rewarding aspects of being a Senator for Chittenden County is being able to help and respond to constituent requests. I’m pleased to have worked closely with many individuals and municipalities to help successfully resolve diverse problems. I understand how overwhelming “the system” can be, and how much common sense can bring to many situations.

Charlotte

  • Coordinated with the Town and AOT regarding the Recreation Path and Underpass project, planned during Route 7 re-construction.
  • Attended a site visit and exchanged emails with the Town Planner

Richmond

  • Coordinated and worked with Town and State to expedite Bridge Street bridge repair at the least cost to the Town
  • Attended multiple meetings at AOT and in Richmond
  • Responded to many phone calls and emails

Milton

  • Met with a group of concerned citizens regarding a potentially hazardous salvage yard
  • Sponsored and worked to pass Legislation regulating salvage yards best practices, including prevention of groundwater contamination

Shelburne

  • Attended multiple meetings of the Design Review Board in support of the Shelburne Wood Development
  • Attended community meetings in support of the project
  • Responded to many phone calls and emails

Other

  • Worked in the Senate to support maintaining Quiet Zones along the rail line through Shelburne, South Burlington, Burlington, and minimize cost to municipalities
  • Sponsored a Charter Change to assist CCTA service area expansion
